 Options for Customizing the Lock Screen on iOS 18 Add a Multicolored Clock

You can now see the time displayed in rainbow colors against your preferred background in iOS 18, thanks to Apple's addition of a new multicolor swatch to the Font & Color customization choices on the Lock Screen.

Widgets and the date, which turn white when the rainbow effect is applied, are currently not affected by the multicolor option, in contrast to the other color swatches. Nonetheless, it's likely that Apple has this implemented but hasn't gotten around to it in the developer beta.

For the first time, users of iOS 18 can additionally customize the two Lock Screen shortcut buttons for the Flashlight and Camera to do any desired action.

Changing the Lock Screen controls is just one of many new customization options in iOS 18, along with other features like the ability to change the color of app icons. The first public beta of iOS 18 is scheduled to launch in July, and the official release date is planned for the autumn.
