Rohit Sharma will captain the team of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after leading India to their second victory in the competition.
Sharma finished as the second top run-scorer in the competition, scoring 257 runs in eight innings. The pick of his performances came in the win over Australia, when he smashed 92, before adding 57 in the semi-final success against Australia.
He is joined Rahmanullah Gurbaz of Afghanistan, the wicketkeeper, was the only player to score more than the Indian opener at the top of the order.
Afghanistan achieved history by reaching the semi-finals for the first time, led by Rahmanullah's 281 runs, which included three half-centuries. His sixty over Australia proved to be crucial as Afghanistan advanced from the Super Eights.
Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies wicketkeeper batsman, comes in at number three. He scored 228 runs at an average of 38 in a win over Afghanistan, which included a 98 off of 53 balls.
Suryakumar Yadav, an aggressive batsman who was rewarded for some significant innings—47 in the semi-final match against England and 53 off just 28 balls in the Super 8s victory over Afghanistan—is the second Indian player named in the starting XI.

Located at position five is the lone Australian on the squad, with Marcus Stoinis added following an outstanding competition. Using both the bat and the ball, Stoinis scored 169 runs at a strike rate above 160 and an average of more than 40. He contributed ten wickets during the competition as well.
The next all-round player is Hardik Pandya, an Indian who amassed 144 runs at an average of 48, claimed 11 wickets with the ball, and bowled the crucial last over to ensure victory.
Axar Patel, his teammate, had a comparable impact with the bat and the ball. After scoring a crucial 47 and going three for 23 in the semi-final to help secure the win over England, the left-armer was moved up the order in the final.
Rashid Khan enters at Currently ranked eighth in the Caribbean, Afghanistan's all-rounder No. 8 has taken 14 wickets at an average of 12.78 and an economy rate of slightly over six.
Jasprit Bumrah, the tournament's best performance overall, comes behind him. India's fortunes turned around during his session, which yielded 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17 and an average of just 8.26.
Arshdeep Singh, who excelled in his second World Cup, is the last player from India in the starting XI. With his two wickets for twenty in the final, he shared the most wickets of any player with seventeen.
The last member in the XI, Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi, was the only player to match Arshdeep's wicket total. His quartet for Afghanistan advanced before the Black Caps, with 17 helping to defeat New Zealand in the group rounds.
Second place winners Anrich Nortje, who has been excellent for the Proteas, is the team's 12th player from South Africa. At an economy rate of less than six and a wicket average of 13.40, he claimed 15 wickets.
