 India is offering Bangladesh its utmost support in the Anar case: MEA Representative


India has said that, as part of the continuing inquiry into the alleged murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar, their government is offering full help to the Bangladeshi side.

"As part of the ongoing investigation into the matter, the government is extending full support to the Bangladeshi side," Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters on Thursday during a weekly briefing in New Delhi.

According to him, law enforcement officials from Bangladesh and India are working together on this specific matter, which is "being investigated," and the required data is being shared.

In the meantime, Bangladeshi law enforcement has requested assistance from India in order to transfer Aktaruzzaman Shaheen, the purported mastermind of Anar's claimed murder, from the United States (US) to Bangladesh.

DB remains silent on the potential recovery of MP Anar's body parts


Following his return from Kolkata on Thursday, Additional Commissioner Harunor Rashid, the head of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), made this statement to media at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
